HIs & Hers Sinks
I love the idea of his and her's sinks for the master bathroom. Not that I don't mind sharing, but I really do enjoy the symmetrical design of having matching sinks. One does lose a little counter space but gains personal space when one opts for this design.

Seagrass Stools by Pottery Barn
I am in love with Pottery Barn's Seagrass barstools in both full back and backless design. What I like about the backless is that they can be tucked under the lip of the breakfast bar area. We have a very open spaced home and I love that because of all the light that comes through the home. In order to preserve that feeling I really don't want the home to feel too cluttered. This means I want things to be able to be tucked away to leave a little more floor space. This is what causes me to lean towards the backless stools. We don't use that area as an eating area that often, but that beings said the stools with the backs might offer that slight bit more comfort for when we do.
I also like the seagrass because it is easy to pull that texture into other parts of the kitchen by using baskets and trays. I don't think my home will ever be perfectly matching. I like the idea of using natural materials and warm natural colours when possible. Right now I am torn between a darker shade or the lighter. While I do prefer the lighter, the darker might pull together some of the aspects of the living room a little more.

Dreaming in Colour : Gold #1
There is something about the colour gold I just love. I know silver has been in fashion, or rather white gold when it comes to many things, but there is a richness to gold that I just cannot get over. There is something rich and royal to the colour that I cannot find in the other metallics. Gold also offers a warmth that I really enjoy in my home. You want to sparkle at a party? Paint the bottoms of your wine bottle or decanter in gold. Tie a gold ribbon around a white napkin and they will seem to become that much more elegant in front of your eyes. While there is room in my life for many things that sparkle, this year I am leaning towards this classic colour.

Project Dream House Entry #1
I think a lot of people have an idea of how they
would like their perfect home to look like. Even if that idea is more of a
feeling. This feeling is what I call a “thesis” to your dream home.
My personal home project is only at the planning stage. We
had a list of things to get done. This is not limited to all new furniture,
hopefully a bathroom renovation and replacing the all the bedrooms carpets with
wood floor. But since we are in
the ideas and saving stage this is a dream project. Once things start to happen it will move to a dreams do come
true project.
One of the rooms in the house is a "water closet". That means it is a toilet in its own little room. The walls are stucco and there is a photo of CBGB's toilet above our own. I can say without a doubt not a lot of home decor has gone into decorating this room so far.
Remove the stucco and CBGC photo.
Tile in a neutral tile partly up the wall.
Put up LOTUS wall paper. (This wallpaper is what dreams are made of.)
A dark wood shelf with a box to keep paper products in.
And because I am dreaming I would add something fantastic.
Who knows what I will end up doing with the space by the time I get around to it. The most important part is that both my partner and I like the over all look, and that it works with the rest of the house. That is the thing with dreams, they change as you change.

Finishing Touches
It is in the finishing touches where the real fun starts. I find flowers or plants give life to the room, objects one collects adds personality, and that one piece that just stands out adds that little bit of sparkle and gives something for people to talk about. This idea of finishing touches can be added to many aspects of our life. It can sometimes be as simple as adding a candle. What is the finishing touch to your outfit? Is it that standout clutch that you splurged on? What about at your dinner party? Perhaps it is the place cards with a different knock-knock joke on the back? That finishing touch is what will make the room, the event, or the outfit all about you.
The best finishing touch? A smile. Just like Annie said "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile".

A Rosy Holiday.
The holidays are a great excuse to use ornate plates and add
a little sparkle into your presentation. One doesn't have to have a dinner party to break out the good china, invite people over for cake and whip cream topped coffee. What I like about this look is that it is a lighter look to a holiday party, it leans towards a more playful feeling.
A big white coconut cake would be a holiday party dream. To top it off I would add edible gold flakes or sprinkles on the top. The filling Paula Deen uses is a sour cream one, and while this does sound tempting, I would switch it up so that the line dividing the two tiers was a pretty pink, perhaps just a hint of cranberry. I am sure no one would say no to trying a slice or two. By serving a dessert based event it allows you to spend more time with your guests. That is after all why they are there.
You have the foreground set but don't forget the unseen aspects. On my playlist I have the New London Choir & The London Philharmonic Orchestra -- White Christmas
-Ski Slope Sweetie (A golden pearl) Mariah Carey Winter Holiday Collection
-Sweet Heart (A soft pale pink) Romantics Collection
-Don't Touch My TuTu NYC Ballet Collection
